And the answer to the question, “Will we get a Union Market for Christmas?” is a resounding “Yes!” The signage for the Cobble Hill outpost of the Park Slope-based gourmet market went up yesterday and the store opens today. If you happen to pop your head into the newly renovated 4,000-square-foot space (which is in the running for a LEED Gold rating) this morning please send us a photo! Update: A reader who was a little surprised by the LEED rating sent us a photo from a few nights ago in front of the store. Check it out on the jump. Also, check out photos from the opening on Pardon Me For Asking. Looks great!

Pete, I put it in my cereal – never too old for that. And milk is one of those things that I do think is important – you’ve seen me in action, I don’t need any more hormones.
you people are too old to be drinking milk. and too old to worry about whether organic or not.
Makes sense, Boerumresident, you get what you pay for. If you want yummy milk that’s also organic, you gotta kick in some extra cash. I guess the lack of flavor made me question its organic-ness, but that may not make sense. I just emailed TJs to find out the source of its organic milk.
Union Market will do great in this location. Especially with the prepared foods.
It does taste better! ANd I think the TJ’s milk is fine, but not superb. OTOH, I don’t think it’s appreciably worse than many of the other organic milks sold for 3.99 or (horrors) 4.99 at other stores, and it seems consistently priced at 3.69.
Rob, notwithstanding the milk from TJs, organic milk tastes better.
organic milk!?!? wtf is the point of milk without the hormones?!
*rob*
Does anyone else find TJ’s organic milk to be subpar to other organic milks?
I think Union Market is great too. And no one opens up a store if they think it’s going to fail. Just about anything is better than an empty storefront, and this is a great addition to get excited about. All I was saying is that I think it’s a steep rent. I guess we’ll soon find out how recession proof pricey cheeses and meats are.
“Is Cobblehiller going to be 1st customer and come back and give us a review?”
I just went out, didn’t go there, though. I will check it out tomorrow and report back!
