I agree, MM and for many of the same reasons.
Yes, it was. It was not sensationalistic, it did not imply that such was the fate of anyone to set foot in Crown Heights. The story laid out the life for that particular group of people in that particular place and time. No excuses, no “poor thing” for the killer or killers, but no “he’s a savage animal” either. A really good piece of of writing. I look forward to the rest of Franklin Ave’s experiences on jury duty.
