A Trade Wise grocery store is gearing up to open at 900 Fulton Street in Clinton Hill, close to the corner of Washington. Signage is up and they are busy building out the inside.

Yelp reviews of the nearby Bed Stuy location say the store is clean and has good prices as well as a small organic section but quality is sometimes erratic. Do you think it will be a useful addition to the neighborhood? GMAP

  1. I just walked through the place (opened today). I don’t think the other stories in area (C-town, Mr. Mellon, etc.) have much to fear from this new Fulton St. “Trade Wise” unless it has been a dream of local residents around here to have a new store open with $1 to $3 relative mark ups on just about every single item. I was shocked and disappointed. For me — no thank you.

  2. It looks fine, comment snobs aside, although everything they’ll have is already there in the shops around them. I worry for the health food store across the street, because they are really, really nice. I worry less for Brooklyn Victory Garden because they have carved out their twee niche.

However, mostly at this point I just go to the Associated on Waverley, which is all fancy now so I have no skin in the game.
