Norman Oder, all of Brooklyn, New York City and New York State owes you a debt of gratitude for uncovering the truth about the proposal to build the Atlantic Yards project the way Ratner’s company hopes to. One would hope that the city’s politicians who stood by this plan would also be held accountable for supporting this untenable situation in light of the new financial numbers. I would love to hear what Marty Markowitz has to say about this now. This deal is bad for all of us. It’s not about the city generating tax dollars, or creating jobs. It’s only about some guys in suits thinking they know what’s best for us poor folks and trying to get a foothold on creating a lasting legacy. Unfortunately their lasting legacy is going to be one a sad and shameful one if this project gets built. And now we have good reason to hope that it won’t. Again thank you Norman Oder! You have cheering me up so much.
Mr. Brownstoner,
I was surprised to see the New York Times article on the ESDC’s revised financial revenue projections at AY (now cut by half a billion buckaroos!) relegated to the Linkster section – Seems like bigger news than that.
Amazing to see the Times actually show some credibility by mentioning Norman Oder and quoting Goldstein of DDDB.
