  1. Ugh, pretty decent body on that older gent makes me realize I need to get back into the gym. (aren’t congressman supposed to be so busy working for the people that they don’t have time to live in a gym?)

AP Exams: disagree. Passing those exams allows you to take more elective courses in your area of focus instead of ‘wasting time’ taking the same irrelevant core courses.

  2. DIBS made me LOL over the Rangel comment. True confession: that’s a nice-looking pic. But I’d really rather not see it everytime nytimes.com refreshes. Whither Egypt?

  3. I finished college in 3 years, mainly because of AP credits.
I had a couple of English, a couple of History, Calculus, and Computer Science.
This was 20 years ago, so I’m not sure how things have changed since then.

  4. Most AP exams are useless, especially in the sciences. They might get you college credit, but you’ll still need to take those science classes in college as an underclassman because the knowledge gap increases from senior year in high school to soph/jr year in college when you take those upper division science courses.

Also, when you take the actually class in college they will drop the AP credit equivalents.

  5. Rule of thumb when sending pics out like that: Let it just be a face pic or just a body pic, or just a “privates” pic. Individually they can’t get you in trouble. It’s when you combine them that you could get in trouble.

Republicans need to be more savvy about these things.

  6. Banks should not be in the business of modifying mortgages for people who can’t afford their homes. If the person cannot show ability to pay a 30 year fixed or some other traditional loan, they should lose their house.

JPM picked up a LOT of bad mortgages with that WAMU take over. WAMU had almost no lending standards, about as bad as that non-bank Countrywide. The best thing for some people is foreclosure, especially when you consider the gap between what most people in foreclosure owe and what their homes are worth.
