  1. I think I’m going to kick of a 2011 project to photograph and document as many cool old wood houses around the downtown brooklyn area as possible. I know that IMBY had some up on his site a while ago.

  2. Those clapboards have been on for way more than 5-10 years already. These houses are super charming and slightly run down, in a nice way, but yeah- one of them has nothing but plywood on the side facing a parking lot.

  3. The one on the right was for sale a couple of years ago and I saw it then. Both the houses and the lots are shallow (the lot is probably less than 75 feet deep). Also, not surprisingly, the ceilings were on the lower side.

Nevertheless, these houses do have a lot of charm. If the visual appearance of tar paper on the side bugs you, hold a fund raiser to fix it.

  4. Dibs is correct w location. As for them looking “great”.. All in the camera angle unfortunately as the sides are completely un-clapboarded down to the tar paper and it looks awful. Just fix it already, you cheapies! (perhaps they already have, I’ve been gone from the nabe for 1 year)
