Vito looks like he’s going to fly away with those eyebrows.
On average NY voters return the incubment 95% of the time. Change would need to come from a savvy gov with lots of mula to get the word out about the cesspool. Rangel voted back in, DC mayor who mades lots of positive changes voted out(with help from United teachers federation).
well ishtar, that makes you sound like a gun advocate! Very hard to get a handgun permit in NYC, but you’ll get it eventually if you fill out ALL the paperwork in the exact color of ink they are looking for and so on. Easier to get a long gun permit.
My favorite line in Paladino’s acceptance speech went something like this: “Some critics say that I’m an angry man. My response? Hell yeah – I am angry as hell about what’s going on”.
The NYDN had an article today on calling Paladino crazy. He may well be. But the evidence for his craziness on page 1 was that he said “Silver should be in Attica”. Seeing as this is close to a self-evident truth the NYDN editors could have chosen better support.
Benson, we dont look to Politicians for examples of human discipline, integrity, equity,…. politicians are smooth talking & looking crooks who realized it’s better risk:reward profile in the politics game than the hard crime stuff
In Bushwick there is an “affordable” housing complex called Rheingold Gardens, which was sponsored by Vito Lopez’s machine. He had a large sign permanently affixed over the building’s entrance: “Thank you, Assemblyman Vito Lopez”. How pathetic. I wonder if the residents have to kiss his ring every night too.
I’d sooner live in a hovel than lower myself to being this man’s serf.
true m4l, I shouldn’t be so bitter and look at the bright side.
he’s under the spotlight sure – but giving a $650,000 “salary” to a buddy who works 17.5hrs a week for a “charity” is theft from NYC taxpayers, plain and simple. He should be in handcuffs and then put under the spotlight – for questioning.
Ditto, Espada voted out – it’s a sign of progress
