  1. Cgar, I’m not sure yet but thank you for asking.

Re insurance, when someone I know left their door unlocked and their jewelry was stolen, the insurance company said they would not pay.

  2. dibs- yesterday the A was stopped 3 times – supposedly for track work-between Nostrand and High St. I had a Dr.’s appt. Took me over 45 minutes to get to B’way-Nassau where I change for the 4/5. Get to the 4/5 platform, wait wait wait. Finally we’re told all train service to and from Grand Central is delayed for a police investigation. Never got to the doctor. Left the house at 12:45, got home after 3:30. From the B’way/Nassau station. All for nothing. Thanks MTA.

  3. Although we often will leave the house with the door unlocked, I think it would have been very interesting info if the article discussed how the insurance industry views this. Would they pay a claim if the door was unlocked? Is locking the door a better chance to get the claim paid if someone did break in?

  4. Well, the significance of the door story is that its author asked here for stories and now it’s on the front page of the NYT. Are any Brownstoners in it?
