Hopefully this won’t get lost in the black hole of a Friday afternoon in the Summer cuz it’s big news: Hot Bird, the name of two well-loved-but-long-closed BBQ chicken joints in the Prospect Heights area, is making a come back. We first heard from a tipster yesterday and just rode by the new location at the northwest corner of Clinton and Atlantic Avenues to confirm. Indeed it’s true: There’s a sign for the mailman referencing Hot Bird deliveries and the contractor said it was so. It’s supposed to be ready in two months, and that fence means there will be an outdoor dining area. A bonus for the owner: Not having to put up a new sign! Pscyhed? GMAP
Hot Bird is the name of a new bar that’s opening on the corner of Atlantic and Clinton avenue…. it’s unrelated to the old BBQ joint and won’t be serving BBQ food… There will be a pretty decent size garden… hopefully about 12 beers on draught… and as far as the opening date… you never really know until it’s actually open.
