Hopefully this won’t get lost in the black hole of a Friday afternoon in the Summer cuz it’s big news: Hot Bird, the name of two well-loved-but-long-closed BBQ chicken joints in the Prospect Heights area, is making a come back. We first heard from a tipster yesterday and just rode by the new location at the northwest corner of Clinton and Atlantic Avenues to confirm. Indeed it’s true: There’s a sign for the mailman referencing Hot Bird deliveries and the contractor said it was so. It’s supposed to be ready in two months, and that fence means there will be an outdoor dining area. A bonus for the owner: Not having to put up a new sign! Pscyhed? GMAP

  1. Date painted on the fence next to the Clinton Ave. entrance at Hot Bird, the bar, indicates it will be opening this Tuesday April 20th. I’ve heard that a food truck is in the works, coming soon…yum.

  2. The building next door is vacant and up for rent… and someone is thinking of doing food there…
The lot was a mess for a long time and no one wanted to rent it. A new bar might be boring… but that’s what it’s going to be…
