The new Propspect Heights location of Fort Greene’s Pequena has been in the works since last summer, and it looks like the wait is over. A tipster tells us that the second branch of this colorful Mexican spot is set to open this Friday at 601 Vanderbilt. GMAP

  1. anyone wanna try this place out with me? it might actually be a step forward in the therapy process of getting over my fear of peacocks. i can actually look at a picture of peacocks these days without getting the chills. im getting better! walking thru that door tho might seriously make me run back out into traffic. i might need some hand holding

    *rob*

  2. I believe it was a combination of cash flow issues, stop work orders, and negotiating with LPC (this is in the PH Historic District) that caused the delays. Anyway, I can’t wait. I’m a huge fan of their Fort Greene joint. Love Chavellas too. There can’t be enough Mexican grub in the neighborhood imho.

  3. Seriously, that took forever. They painted the facade and put the “coming soon” sign up like 5 months ago. Anyone know what the holdup was?
