$100 dollar sneakers aren’t about quality, they’re about marketing. Any 1st Grader knows that. Who knew Kindergarten Kids were posting on here?
Macy’s on Fulton Mall closed?
Long time Brooklynite-
I think you are thinking about Martin’s and Korvettes. They were the two stores on the north side of Fulton.
To all the rest of you, Modell’s is actually a great sporting goods store. They actually sell the equipment needed for sports including bats, balls, helmets, pucks, sticks etc. Not to mention they’ve got a huge selection of workout and fitness equipement like barbells. Plus they’ve been on the mall for closer to 40 years.

“Actually, I walk by there on my way to the train every morning. The morning it opened (a week or so ago?) there was a line going around the block. ”
They were giving away Yankees tickets…
“you need to climb down off of that high horse. How much do your shoes cost?”
My sneakers cost $50 and I buy two pairs over the period of a year. I wear a pair until they get too dusty then they become garden shoes.
We also live debt-free. And we own, not rent.
Actually, I walk by there on my way to the train every morning. The morning it opened (a week or so ago?) there was a line going around the block. I couldn’t imagine why people would be waiting in line at 9 am for a Modell’s opening. I figured someone somewhat famous might be there for the ribbon cutting?
