Now that its renovation is nearing an end, the Atlantic Avenue YWCA is looking to rent out the double-height space fronting Atlantic Avenue as retail. (Presumably this will mean significant alterations to the facade, no?) The offering includes 4,550 square feet of floor space plus another 1,800 square feet of balcony space. They’re asking $60 a foot which seems a little pricey to us. What kind of business would work well in that space, do you think?

  1. Sorry…yes it is retail space.

Why not just make it a Super Bodega…the bodega to beat all bodegas???

    Bodega King!!!

Tear that whole facade off and put in glass windows and line them with detergent so that you can’t see in or out.

  2. DIBS – retail space costs way more than office space – 60per sf isnt really that high for retail space especially with alot of frontage – in this case alot would depend on the layout of the space (cerainly a balcony is not worth the same as floor.

At $60 a sq ft the typical 1000 sq ft store you see all over Brooklyn is paying $5000 a month – which would be cheap in PS
