Ghang, the Smith Street Thai restaurant, opened a new location on Court Street a few days ago in the old Miriam space. Appetizers (dumplings, summer rolls, calamari, etc) mostly run $4-$6; noodle dishes cost between $8 and $12; and curries run between $9 and $15. Ate there yesterday evening. Delicious. Will go there again soon.
Why can’t someone open a Korean or Vietnamese restaurant (a real one–not just sandwiches, like on Bergen or Atlantic) around here. Why always mediocre Japanese/Thai/Chinese?

btw — as of last night lemongrass grill is “SEIZED” according to the large sign on the door. i don’t know the details but it has something to do with taxation.
so although this area really doesn’t need yet another thai restaurant, the total number of thai places on court street isn’t any different than it was a week ago, assuming lemongrass stays closed 🙂

that location is cursed. good luck. What I would prefer is a DollarTree.
Hopefully they’ll make this spot work after the fairly quick transition thru Hill Diner/Hill Restaurant/Miriam. Does seem odd to add another Thai option when the area is rather well-served including by Ghang’s own spot a whole block and a half or so away… Maybe they don’t plan to renew the lease on that one or someink.

nevermind – they have a LL
