We stopped short the other night when we saw the paper down at 683 Washington Avenue, what we long ago reported was to be a steampunk-themed music spot. And we have good news to report: the Way Station will be opening soon, hopefully within the month. The interior’s totally done; the liquor license just needs to come through. After a long wait, the owner told us it finally looks like it’ll happen. Great news for Washington Avenue. GMAP
Steampunk is a fantastic idea. Finally something cool is thought of and even better it doesn’t have anything to do with hipsters and their shitty indie rock!
My understanding is that the wait for the liquor license has been the holdup pretty much the whole time, so I won’t hold my breath.
I think steampunk can be quite inventive and fun. But BSD is right, I’m not seeing any in the photograph.
