One of the folks involved with Der Kommissar—the Austrian-inspired sausage stand/tavern coming to 5th Avenue near the corner of 15th Street, and perhaps the only Brooklyn business to share the name of a Falco hit—says the eatery is having a soft opening tonight and tomorrow from 7 to 10 p.m. Der Kommissar’s website has a menu up detailing the wurst and bier that will be on offer. The pics above show how the storefront has been renovated.

  1. looks out of place next to the shut-down physical therapy place with the huge dusty old christmas wreath? and a long-distance phone call joint? what a shame!

    this location is picking up!

  2. quote:
There are altogether too many sausage/Eastern European joints in the nabe. Altho if they are staying open very late, maybe.

but this wont be an authentic one. it’s an “inspired” one.. and you know what THAT means! lol

    *rob*

  3. it’s in an unfortunate location and looks totally out of place with the stores next to it. That being said – I welcome them to this part of the hood as their needs to be more food options down here!
