Rooftop Films Announces 2016 Lineup With 'Weiner,' Death By Audio Doc, Short Films and More

For two decades now, Rooftop Films has been gathering cinephiles atop unconventional buildings — from Gowanus’ Old American Can Factory to the Bushwick Generator to Sunset Park’s Industry City — in the name of enjoying movies, short films and live music.

This year, as the nonprofit plunges into its 20th season, the lineup offers the usual range of short, foreign and documentary film screenings. Many of the events are free to the public and all events begin with live music.

Highlights of the 2016 lineup include a sold-out sneak-preview screening of the Anthony Weiner documentary Weiner, a behind-the-scenes movie about Danny Brown, and The Story of Death By Audio, a feature film about Williamsburg’s now-closed indie music venue.
