It’s almost time for the 12th annual Taste of Red Hook event, a culinary fest celebrating the food, drink and people that make the define the neighborhood. This year, the fundraising event will offer tastings from 50 restaurants, breweries, wineries and distilleries from Red Hook’s ever-growing culinary community. Participants this year will include Buttermilk Channel, Steve’s Authentic Key Lime Pies, The Good Fork, Rita, Travel Bar, Popina, Sixpoint Brewery and Fort Defiance.

In addition to the nibbles and drinks, there will be a silent auction with craft, wellness, travel and culinary items up for bidding. For those looking for a bit more adventure, there will also be experiences offered up, including the “Ultimate Tesla Experience.” The winning bidder on that package will be allowed to take home a Model S for 24 hours.
All proceeds from the event will benefit event host the Red Hook Initiative (RHI), a community center in Red Hook which serves over 5,000 residents annually. Last year’s event raised more than $330,000 to support the programs that serve as the foundation of RHI’s work to empower neighborhood youth and residents.

The Taste of Red Hook will take place on Tuesday, September 25 at the pre-Civil War Liberty Warehouse at 260 Conover Street from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets for the food event start at $175 (purchase includes all food and drink).
