  1. “i think i also have a touch of the S.A.D. from all this crappy snow. i need some sunshine.”

Rob – this happens to a lot of people – many of whom hop on a DAMN PLANE and go someplace warm for a few days.

  2. The good part about Russians (in brooklyn at least) is that they are very resourceful. I can get just about anything I like, if I am willing to pay for it. Loads of things I never pay retail for as I do have friends in pretty much any industry (Chinaman seems to have the same connects though). Actually come to think of it, maybe it’s the fact that I am a Jew and not so much the fact that I am an ex-commie.

  3. Agree with Lech. Not cool to generalize though.

I am from Belarus but essentially same shit as Russia, as well as Ukraine. All the same schemers (correct spelling?) and gov’t leeches. That’s why I mostly kinda stay away from the Russian enclave. Very judgmental people mostly but few good seeds here and there.

Anyone who tells you “I am not Russian, I am Belarussian or Ukrainian” is full of shit. Essentially it was the same country until 1992 and same culture, form of education, so on so forth. People from the ‘stan regions tend to be very different in culture but anyone from the former Solviet Union slavik portions are all the same.
