  1. “Lechacal, is your wife home with the kids? If so maybe she she needs some TV to prevent total insanity.”

Oh right because for the first couple million years of human evolution mothers had no idea what to do with their kids.

Kind of like how everyone’s crotchfruit just HAS TO have a cell phone nowadays, like they’re putting their kid in mortal danger otherwise.

    I hate hue-mons.

  2. It’s also similar to the computer. I’m sure you wouldn’t dream of not allowing your child to use a computer. But you would likely monitor the websites they’re on and try to ensure they don’t spend all their time playing crappy games.

Speaking of games, The Champs recently shocked me by both learning how to play chess virtually overnight (was taught to them at their school). It’s amazing to wake up on a weekend and find them playing a match or two.

  3. “A TV is like any modern convenience/appliance. One can fill a fridge with healthy food or one can fill a fridge with junk; it’s up to you.”

No, a TV is like a fridge filled with nothing but Lil’ Debbie products, but hey you can pick whichever one you want!

  4. Lech and ExTex, my niece and nephew (9 and 11) both grew up with no TV in the house and still don’t have a tv in the house (my sis does let them watch netflix on PC from time to time) and they are absolutely will adjusted and both are the smartest kids in their honors classes. They do watch some cartoons when they are over their grandparent’s houses but it’s very minimal. They are absolutely fine.

  5. Benson, I grew up without a TV in the home (there also wasn’t electricity or running water for a while there, but I digress). And just look how I turned out.

I would go over to my friend’s house and watch Voltron.

Guy 2: So she’s basically fucked every guy in her senior class in the back of her daddy’s porsche?

Looks like DH and I will be visiting Lech a LOT.

  7. A TV is like any modern convenience/appliance. One can fill a fridge with healthy food or one can fill a fridge with junk; it’s up to you. There’s good programming and bad. Moderation and discretion come in handy if one wants to avoid being a mindless couch potato.
