Parking Changes in Fort Greene

How fickle are the hearts of parking regulators at the Department of Transportation. Fort Greene and Clinton Hill, as you may remember, have had a series of changes to the parking regulations in recent months. First there was a temporary moratorium on alternate-side parking rules, and then on July 20, alternate-side parking returned, but this time with more leniency: residents only have to move their cars one day a week. We received a tip on Tuesday, August 6, however, that DOT workers changed the parking signs again along Carlton Avenue between Myrtle and Willoughby. The signs, pictured above, call again for doing the car shuffle twice weekly. When asked, they said they didn’t know why the rules changed, or why they only applied to this one block along Carlton. Any theories? GMAP

Re Carlton: something to do with the fire station? Much of the block is reserved for the firemen anyway.
I just checked and it is only on one side of the block….wierd? Thanks for the post as I would never have noticed!
They also extended the hours for metered parking until late in the evening. For example on Willoughby and Ashland the meters were reset to 6 days a week until 9pm.
Do meter cops even work that late into the evening?
