Streetsblog checked in on the overhaul of Park Circle, the traffic roundabout outside the southwest corner of Prospect Park. The DOT is in the process of establishing bike paths, a traffic island, and shorter crosswalks for pedestrians in the circle. Judging from the photos Streetsblog has up, the redesign is looking really great. Anyone seen it in the flesh?

  1. But im still trying to figure out who I hate more, the cyclists in my way, the double parked Fresh Direct Trucks or the Access-A-Ride vehicles that have dumb drivers…. hmmmm tough one…

  2. Bike lanes mean cyclists know where to ride and cars can anticipate their movements. Confusion happens when there aren’t clear bike lanes and everyone just has to improvise.

Motorists and cyclists need to stop fighting each other. What we need to do is focus our joint wrath on any asshole on a fixie because they screw up everything for everyone. I say we should ban those Hell-cycles like they did in Berlin, which is probably the most pro-bike city in the world.

  3. “I mean why on earth is the DOT/City soooo into spending time/money/project planners abilities working on dumb bike lanes when I can usually crack an axle while driving the countless streets in Brooklyn!”

So people on bikes don’t get killed by cars???
