The Open Space Alliance is preparing for another summer concert series in Williamsburg, this time at a new location, 50 Kent Avenue, which is between North 11th and North 12th streets. OSA is calling for design proposals for the site, which is currently an asphalt-covered parking lot and, at some point in the future, will be part of Bushwick Inlet Park. According to OSA, “[The winning] proposal will be presented to the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation for final approval, then developed and implemented with additional professional input as required to execute the design for the scheduled 2012 concert series.” Last fall the concert organizers announced they were moving their seasonal series after numerous complaints about noise and crowds at their old East River State Park location. The winning proposal will get $1,000, four VIP tickets for the concert series, a stipend towards the project development, and some OSA swag. More details here.
