mcKenzie, the Visigoth hordes here in Crown Heights would kick some Slopean butt. We eat red meat over here, not some pansy, effete organic salad. Bring it on!
But I remember someone posting on here once about a year ago complaining about being thrown against the wall and frisked by cops when they were visiting friends in public housing in East New York. The cops said they “fit the description.”
Chicken, when I did a job in London several years ago, we rented an industrial machine from a sewing machine vendor in East London. You shouldn’t have much problem finding a good one.
Client leaves a five minute run-on message and, at the VERY END, provides his phone number so quickly that it can’t be made out without replaying the message multiple times.
if this were the ancient world, armies from park slope would spread out from GAP and vanquish neighborhood by neighborhood, killing elders, taking women as chattel, and creating a vast slopian empire. All of Long Island would eventually be called Park Slope and the area around the original Corcoran offices on Seventh Avenue would become the sacred precincts and the epicenter of all power. The slopian senate would meet there and would issue decrees to vanquished neighboorhodds demanding tribute -OR ELSE!
chicken…I bought an “industrial” one a few years back to do some of my car upholstery (leather) jobs. Get a used (refurbished) one from a reputable dealer.
I should actually rent out my sofa to drunk non-residents of Ditmas Park…do you ever make it to Sycamore when you’re on this side of the Atlantic? I don’t think I’ve seen you there.

Was there a few weeks back in the garden with Etson! Remember that your early evening is my late night so I don’t get out to bars much. Will definitely meet you there when I’m back over.
Battlestar Galactica discussion from the Wmsburg thread:
cmu, my biggest problem with the finale was the absurd thought that these thousands of people were going to walk off into the veldt with no technology whatsoever. The funniest thing I read on the subject was on the BSG official forum, where someone said something to the effect of – one lion says to another, hey, look, all these people just landed and are now wandering off with nothing. Smorgasbord!
That and the idea that little Hera, who was played up from day one as the most important person in the universe, dies early and becomes Mitochondrial Eve. Makes no sense.
There were some good parts, such as the death scene with Adama and Laura, but I was let down that most of that dramatic build up went nowhere. Reminded me of some of Stephen King’s novels like It and Tommyknockers, where you have a great dramatic and scary build up, only to find the creepy spider alien hiding in the sewer. Booo.

Pet peeve of the day:
