Chicken, I haven’t been in France in a long time. I wish I had gone to see Monet’s gardens.
I did go to the Orangerie (sp?) Museum in Paris. I remember going downstairs and stepping into an oval room and being surrounded by the Water Lillies. As soon as I stepped into the room I was so enamored, I started crying.
“I remember seeing the barnes collection at the musee d’orsay in the 1990s. I think they needed cash for a renovation so they did a tour. Not what I expected but really enjoyed it.”
If it toured in the 1990’s then I must have seen it before then. I can’t remember if I saw it was before I got married or after.
DeLepp, I have a feeling you weren’t impressed as much with it cause you saw it at the d’orsay, which has a great impressionist collection of its own.
When I saw it (in Philly), I felt like I was at someone’s house. just visiting them and they had all this great art hanging on the walls. I remember alot of the paintings not having descriptions, just the artist name. And some walls were lined with paintings, alot clustered together, masterpieces next to lesser of unknown artists. I’m not sure if it’s still displayed that way, I hope so.
That’s why I think it needs to be seen before they move it to a ‘museum’ setting. To see it as: a house that someone lived in and here’s how he hung his paintings; which happen to be some of the best impressionist art.
I’m sure its legit but the methodology will be criticised as to whether or not its truly a useful test. Banks don’t fail until they fail. There are a lot of “walking wounded”

WOW, we sound almost civilized.
It was the fall 1993. I remember feeling it was a little lost in the D’Orsay, would probably have preferred it in philly.
