“everyone who i know who uses twitters only uses it to update when they poop or something.”
Yeah, that true for a lot of people. But then again, some people only post on Brownstoner to talk about cats and food and sex. Not that there’s anything wrong with that – I have a cat myself, I eat food and I have sex as often as possible. Anyway, don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. You may find it’s quite worthwhile.
Because lots of professionals use Twitter to pass information, and many monitor the blog to find out what other people in their industries (music, media, law, non profit work, entertainment, etc.) are up to. You can also use various Twitter applications to direct your “tweets” (which are blog posts, basically, but limited to 140 words)to people in specific industry groups. All you really need to do to start off is go to Twitter and leave a post talking about what you do (posts are limited to 140 words). You’re bound to get some response, perhaps even from someone who is going the non-traditional route to find talent. Like anything else, there are no guarantees, but I’ve found that when you’re looking for a job, every angle is fair game. All that matters is securing a gig.
OMG, that’s crazy DIBS!
NO WAY! Dave that is nuts!
Very interesting ENY, thank you.
Mmmmm…no pie or tarts for me today. My Bajan neighbor just brought over conkie for me to eat. I never had this before, it’s really awesome.
