Danny Thomas was Lebanese. When he used to have his telethon for St.Jude’s Hospital, he always used to say “I’m calling on my friends on Atlantic Ave. to help me out”.
By the way, here is another piece of Brooklyn trivia. Atlantic Ave in the Cobble Hill vicinity used to be known as the home of another particular ethnic group, who worked in a very specific trade. Does anyone know which group, and what the trade was?
