Sittin’ in the mornin’ sun
I’ll be sittin’ when the evenin’ come
With my 40 in my brown bag, I’m done
And then I pop one open again, yeah
I’m sittin’ on the dock ‘back of Ikea
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I’m just sittin’ on the dock ‘back of Ikea
Wastin’ time
I left my home in Georgia
Headed for Park Slope
‘Cause I’ve had nothing to live for
And look like nothin’s gonna come my way
So I’m just gonna sit on the dock ‘back of Ikea
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I’m sittin’ on the dock back of Ikea
Wastin’ time
Look like nothing’s gonna change
Everything still remains the same
I can’t do what ten people tell me to do
So I guess I’ll remain the same, yes
Sittin’ here resting my bones
And this loneliness won’t leave me alone
It’s two thousand miles I roamed
Just to make this dock my home
Now, I’m just gonna sit at the dock ‘back of Ikea
Watching the tide roll away
Oooo-wee, sittin’ on the dock ‘back of Ikea
Wastin’ time
(whistle)
“preferably somewhere with water, it’s going to be a gorgeous day, where i can relax with a book and drink a 40 ounce in a paper bag, so preferably not an area with any cops or kids around.”
You could sneak into the Red Hook grain factory. Don’t forget to take some photos and post them. You can call it “art.”
Docks behind IKEA might work. IKEA cleaned them up and put quite a few benches and chair out there. I think there are free IKEA buses that go there from park slope.
Ah….I love my peeps. We’ll be foot stompin’ and shimmy-shaking over opening a new fresh loaf of – HOORAY!!!- leavened bread. And sucking down corn syrup (although for the life of me I had no idea that corn was not kosher for Passover until my sister told me this at lunch yesterday. Does corn have cloven hooves?). After 8 days of matzoh I would be ready for a ham sandwich, although copmplete honesty forces me to say that I did not observe the holiday as fully as I should. Getting through the seder was difficult enough without falling to my knees, begging for a real dinner roll.
rob…just search above under Gowanus in Neighborhoods on brownstoner and look at any of the GMAPS…all of the Third and Bond threads are in Gowanus

Snark, we miss your song paradies!!
BRG, do you know of any discreet places in Bay Ridge to chill with a 40 and not get caught by the fuzz?
