  1. They do make laser array mapping devices… fancy archaeologists and historians with lots of grant money use them to create perfect virtual replicas of rooms and structures. They catalog the contents and inscriptions almost instantly (relatively speaking) Then they can create CGI virtual worlds.

This is probably a bit of overkill to determine how much wall-to-wall to order or if you should get 1 couch or 2.

  2. Sorry I’m late. I was over in the Prudential D-E thread doing the math for the pee brained Team Bear members who can always paint a broad picture of doom and gloom but never seem to be able to discuss the actual numbers.

  3. PS….for many decades. all we had waere tape measure. They still seem to work quite well provided you know how to use one.

If you’re working off of blueprints, get one of those architects three-sided pyramidal rulers.

If you can’t figure it out with a tape measure, a laser isn’t going to kick start your cognitive facilities. 🙂

  4. Prodigal Son… just measure the perimeter of the room in centimeters, subtracting doorways, doubling the measurements for alcoves, multiply by the square root of 2, then divide it all by 27. 1000 cm² = 1.07639 ft²

    ((P – (D + A) + 2A) ∙ √2 ) ⁄ 27 = X

    (X ⁄ 1000) ⁄ 1.07639 = X ft²

  5. THL, for these difficult economic times, we should do a show on how Do-It-Yourself disco outfits fashioned from common kitchen items.

Don’t you love how they flashed the picture of the Beatles, circa the Let it Be sessions, to add even more artistic credibility to the performance?
