    Yes, there are laser measuring devices. There are so many different types that contractors, surveyors use.

    They come in different sizes and offer different features. They’re not cheap. We paid about $500 for ours (which I see is no longer available) a couple of years ago. I believe they now range in price from $300 – $800

    You’re best bet is to learn how to use a measuring tape. Unless you’re measuring a huuuuge space, there really is no need for a laser. If I’m measuring a typical room in a house, I use the tape most of the time and use the laser to measure the large distances that a tape measure won’t cover in one shot.
