  1. G10, those are only the peons making six figure salaries. The worst is the ones making seven and eight figure salaries who never have to open a bakery and never have to work another day for the rest of their lives.

  2. gemini: Agreed, it’s depressing. I, for one, am not one of the finance assheads, but dependent on that field/industry unfortunately. I am draining my emergency savings and in a few months if I don’t have a job will be pulling out my retirement money.

Liked the Skadden attorney in the NYT yesterday planning her trip around the world. And getting paid for it. Not.

I’ve been working for a long long time, and now I’m just watching everything I thought I had built up turn to dust.

  3. I know the What can make some startling remarks
but that story he posted made me ill

here these people are who made six figure salaries working in finance get laid off in the past 6 months with a severance package probably worth a years salary now get the luxury of finally being able to ” live their dreams and explore their creative sides” or open bakeries, breweries, jewlery stores”

Gimme a break – where is the karma in all this? Why are those people who were totally responsible for the economic meltdown allowed to live their dream now that they are laid off? While the same people who were laid off b/c the economy spun into ruins who weren’t making that sorta dough are now forced to give up their homes, live off of food pantry handouts and shop in thrift stores for clothes?

UGH – sorry had to vent
