  1. Count me in! Biff, that’s a great idea. Just give the What an editor, please, and no, I’m not volunteering. I already have enough bad homework to grade. Maybe the unemployed folks on here can earn some skittles and pocket change for their troubles…

  2. Cobblehiller I see you have found something to keep you busy! Anyway I have to run (Anger Management Classes). DAMN IT WHERE IN MY M***** F***** KEYS S**** M***** F*******!!!!!!!

    Ok I’m better now….

  3. “I know you’ll scoff at the idea, but I think it would be really fascinating if you were provided a forum here (a weekly thread like MM) to talk about some of the authors, musicians, and other entertainers from the day and also generally about Brooklyn when you were growing up.’

I have to much hatred for Brownstoner to do something like that but Youtube and Google is your friend. Just put Old School Hip Hop or Rap and away we go!

What will scoff, but I would love it. [Can I have some more skittles? Crazy Cores, please!]

  5. What, that is amazing! It must have been incredible to be at some of those shows. Did you seem lots of them live? It sounds like you were very involved in them. What you said about nobody wanting to perform in Brooklyn is wild.

I would be interested and it would put things in perspective for Asshats like me who weren’t here at the time. 🙂

  6. “I believe the Sugarhill Gang paved the way for Grandmaster Flash’s “The Message” that was released (on Sugar Hill Records) in the early ’80s, which was far more serious and deep. ”

Grandmaster Flash was a underground GOD at that time. I wish you could get your hands on the tapes of that time. Here Biff take a look at this..

Most of the Old School Party Flyers were Designed By Buddy Esquire and Phase 2. Phase 2 was a real big Aerosol Artist who wrote on allot of the NYC Trains who also did a majority of the Party Flyers back then. Buddy Esquire was a regular Artist who did allot of party flyers as well.

The funny thing is that no one wanted to perform in Brooklyn because the would get robbed. Brooklyn was very bad back then…

This is what Brooklyn means to me. This is why I carry on like a psycho!
