On another note, when some of you people talk about “community” it’s enough to turn a subway rat’s stomach. It’s akin to hearing George W. Bush and his ilk talk about the precious “family” and “family values”. “Community” indeed.
Very nice of you all to say so.
But look back at the open thread where Mr B told us he didn’t like where it was going (no different than today’s) and then implicated us as a bunch of bullies for intimidating a trolling poster whose first post was along the lines of “hello losers”. Why is the Openthread still here? Because its importnant to the site, to many return customers, and to his number of hits.
He clearly offended a number of the people who strengthen and give this board a real “community” aspect and nature. Its not imaginary offense, thats why some of us are still talking about it a week later. To DIBS it may run off like water off a duck’s arse, and good for DIBS for having that attitude. But whatever Mr. B’s actual intentions were (and I do appreciate him, his product, his community contributions and his phlegmatic attitude in the face of provocation by Mr. What etc) his slapdown (or community polling as the more generous have deemed it) does not go down well.
I now have to give the soapbox back to Benson and get some lunch.
