Essentially, it is an atomiser of a nicotine-laced solution that you inhale as a vapour. There is no tar (the main issue with smoking) although the long-term effects of inhaling nicotine vapour have not been determined.
Also comes in lots of tasty flavours.
In theory, I think it is less bad for you than smoking real cigarettes – but I’m not a doctor.
The refill cartridges are very cheap relative to cigarettes (one refill is equivalent to about 10 cigs so about 1/5 to 1/10th the price) because there is no tobacco tax on them. Can get even cheaper if you buy your own solution.
wasder, thanks for the nice words! I was plugging away hard at the Death Star. Still have lots to do but am checking in periodically. I did post three times in the OT yesterday, which I realize is well below my average.
smoking keeps your weight down, there is no doubt about it.
all those skinny europeans and japanese folks? they smoke like chimneys. Fat Americans? Don’t smoke.
when you smoke, food is less attractive and I think one’s metabolism is stoked. When physicians quit smoking they stay thin by popping amphetamines (most doctors are druggies, I’m an RN). Regular folks are just supposed to suck it up and “exercize more” as if most Americans don’t spend the entire day frantically going from one place to the next. There is no hope. If you smoke you will die of cancer, if you don’t smoke, you will get fat and probably die of cancer anyway.
Rob…you need to quit also.
It doesn’t matter if you become a butterball, we’ll worry about that later.
We’ll have an exercise class every morning right here in the OT.
I used to smoke Dunhill reds.
cmu, my god. what a thing to witness.
you can read about it here

but lots of info on the web and plenty available on ebay.

Worth checking out if you are a smoker.

Biff–where were you yesterday? We missed you.
How does the electronic cigarette work? What’s in it?
Rob, you can join me on my daily 2 mile walk (sometimes I do three miles). We’ll battle the bulge together.
InsertFattyNameHere? Waaaaaah! How mean! 🙁
I watched a person get PWNED in the OT once. Yet, I still post. What the hell is my problem?
