I think it might be worth noting that no other similar blogs, even the popular ones, have any commentator community whatsoever… and that the community, good and bad, is what sets b-stoner apart.
BRG, I honestly think folks want to be a part of this party but are too afraid or whatever to try to join. Thus the boo-hooing. Like I said, I was nervous to jump in here at first as well. A few months later I’ve got people trying to help me find a job and offering to buy me drinks at the Meet-Up. If that’s not proof that you guys don’t bite and are nice as hell to new people, I don’t know what is. This is all a bunch of bullshit designed to get more hits.
Seriously, I think Mr. B wants / needs more comments in the threads…not just this one. I think he worded his opening post very poorly. He needs to look at the topics he’s putting up every day and dress those up and then he’ll get more posts/comments.
And the people in that thread saying that the post often veer off topic have no idea what the f*ck they’re talking about. Ever since the OT was started, things have been so on topic in other threads.
I’m getting pissed also.
Heather, you are right…I have yet to see a blog like this one garner many comments, on or off topic. And the few commenters there are no community.
“Maybe we should discuss how cat ownership affects historic brownstone interiors, lest we get in trouble.”
Yeah, then we can get serious and have an indepth discussion of what kind of kitty litter to use. HA!
Didn’t Rob mention that Curbed was having a meet up too – like next week?
Ours was cooler, of course. ; )
Hoummus! [edible spread]
Sorry I’m late – I actually had work to do and got suckered into that other post.
Let’s see what banality I can add, for babs entertainment, of course. I wouldn’t want to let her down. Seeing as I have no life beyond this place. : P
“Why are people such cry babies?”
Feck ’em. Things are so much tidier lately. He’s grasping. There were some good suggestions though.
Rob, who was the lurker that you thought was hot? A guy?
