I usually don’t like Brooks but his column today was thought provoking and uncomfortable. He is right in many respects- there comes a point where care, not cure is the only option and yet we refuse to see it. The medical profession has its own reasons for pushing more and more medical procedures- money being a main one. But I think a lot of blame for rising health care costs also has to do with our health care system- or lack of a coherent one. Until we figure out how to have health care for everyone, those who can’t afford it will cost us hugely, and the medical profession will keep squeezing those who can. Everyone suffers. But that’s capitalism for ya.
Well, if you don’t get, you don’t get it. You think Krugman isn’t talking about economics? He sure as shiiit ain’t talking about leather sofas.
I have to agree with Dave. Krugman basically repeats himself endlessly the man has not had a new idea since 1979.
under a Bachman regime Dave’s fingers will not be the only body parts subject to amputation.
I hope everyone has read David Brooks column today in the Times.
more health care does not necessarily mean better quality of life.

oh right- any port in a storm.
Well, he did say he didn’t advocate leaving them on a hillside
OMG- you just said something nice about communism.
Except while people love SP, only her fan base want to see her in the White House. Not even you want her there, dave. Admit it.
