  1. So- Bachmann lovers- today Michelle Bachmann signed a socially conservative pledge that says (among other things): “Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) is the first presidential candidate to sign a pledge written by a socially- conservative advocacy group in Iowa that, among other things, endorses the view that homosexuality is a choice rather than a biological trait.

The pledge, titled “The Marriage Vow: A Declaration of Dependence Upon Marriage and Family,” originated with a group led by Bob Vander Plaats, an unsuccessful GOP gubernatorial candidate and evangelical Christian leader in Iowa. The group, the Family Leader, is asking all the 2012 presidential hopefuls to sign it.

The pledge asks signatories to vow that they will be faithful to their spouses and to the U.S. Constitution. It condemns adultery, “quickie divorce,” infidelity, pornography, cohabitation and Islamic sharia law. It also suggests that more African-American children are born out of wedlock now than they were under slavery.”

    Nice. NOT.

  2. “with love there is an intensity and one has to give a part of themselves up.”

True, legion. But I think giving and paying are really two different things and in some relationships one person thinks “paying” and the other thinks “giving.” Both are going to be disappointed.

  3. I thought this was the “OT”- anything goes. We all have different needs, scott- There is an empty spot by the boiler in the basement for you, if you care to open your mind. 🙂

  4. “I’m not diminishing the idea of a giving and joyous love between two people.
I’m simply pointing out that even in that scenario, one is apt to give up a part of oneself.”

You make it sound like that’s a bad thing?
