Thanks for answering Dave. Another question…when people go to buy a condo, does their inspector go over only their individual unit or the whole building?
I pass by Highpoint daily…I think they bit off more than they can chew space wise. It is *never* full no matter what time I pass by. The loungers seem to stick with Has Beans between 17th and 18th street.
Couple of things for the blog. Anyone else been to “Brook Vin” the new wine bar in south slope ? Admittedly it’s not the biggest space but couldn’t get in there saturday evening it was so packed. Personally I’d rather be down the Gate but the wife likes having the option of some local vino tinto.
Also popped into Highpoint coffee on 5th Ave and 14th st.
Not sure how longs that’s been open but a big open space there. Sufficient for folks who actually want a coffee and geeks who sit on lap tops all day…..
Snappy…back from getting my sandwich.. I’ve actually done the complete electrical and plumbing on two gut renovation jobs myself. I’ve seen all kinds of structural issues as well as insect damage and know how to spot them and what it takes to deal with them. I’ve acted as GC on one of those prior rehabs. I once bought a house from Tokyo with the inspection contingency written in to have my GC look at it structurally. I had seen the house and new it was going to be a complete gut job but only wanted to make sure the basement walls weren’t caving in.
There weere no surprises in my Bed Stuy brownstone. However, I do believe that some of the neighbors cats took adverse possession of the yard!!!! Sadly, one is now buried there.

shadow as in ‘try to step on my shadow?’ Oh yeah!
“I prefer Grether’s Blackcurrant Pastilles myself.”
Hey Chick, Of course you’d prefer them. You’re a classy broad that appreciates such things.
🙂
Anyone play shadow as a kid?
“bxg:There are some great Indian street games with rocks and a ball that are fun to play.”
Do tell. I wasn’t allowed in the streets when I was young.
“Snappy, NO Cigs, I will not support your habit!”
waaaahhhh 🙁
But when you have a cranky Snappy, no one is happy!
lol
