my campus was uber conservative… there was no gay dorm per se, but anyone who was out of the closet or refused to dress like the other 98% of students lived in the philosophy and fine arts dorm. you had to apply to get in and it had absolutely nothing to do with philosphy or fine arts. sort of like a fraternity for the freaks. that’s where I met my 3 best college friends, one of whom lives down the block from me now.

Actually, I think I told her that I had never spoken to a black person until college. She was so nice to us students; she lived on the Upper West Side in a place that was wall to wall books and invited us to her place.
my freshman year dorm, i was on the soccer floor :-/ there were a few non jocks like me and that roommate who disappeared and some other rooms but most of the floor were total jocks. oh and there was some chick who used to like to fuck in the shower but would spread petals all around the shower drain.
there’s a good chance my kids will be only white kids in their public school. i wonder if this will affect them negatively at all

I grew up in a very mixed neighborhood with Jewish, Black and Italian neighbors. was a great place to grow up.
