Ok, BedstyMaven, what are your favorite Irish songs and were they Bronx Irish songs?
I went through my own “Roots” period and learned a lot of oldies from Ireland in addition to the Bronx Irish songs like [looking mistily toward the heavens] Galway Bay. Plus, my grandmother got a kick out of me being her living juke box.

Seriously though, I think most hard core liberals are white. I always get the sense that black people (even ones who vote democrat and whatnot) think white liberals are a bunch of sissies and poseurs to be running around talking about social causes and injustice and all that stuff when it’s just an intellectual exercise for them, while it’s real when you’re black. So they actually come across as kind of conservative in the sense that they have sort of a “you work for it, you earn it” attitude. Does that make any sense at all??
