“I think we are all going to have to agree to disagree on how to deal with this issue. Everyone will deal with the What in his/her own way and that will simply be that.”
I think this pretty much sums up my opinion, thanks Snappy.
Thanks Benson, but I partly meant that I think that people should continue to engage the What as he has the same free speech rights as all of us.
Not that I have yet had the energy to do so myself!
Would anyone like to join me in ‘deep breathing’ exercises? In through the nose…..out slowly through the mouth 🙂 Feels good, don’t it?!

Snappy- you said it well, and so did wasder. I think its more difficult for some of us to watch how the What gets treated- and there is a good deal of truth in benson’s comment- especially those of us who have been in the line of Whatfire.
He has said some truly awful things , and very often to people who don’t deserve it, and I’ll mention Montrose. Some of the things he has said to her would have found him lying in a fetal position with his balls kicked up into his nose if he said it in the street. I’m not able to overlook that stuff. This may be a cyber community, but it is a community, and it’s now going offline as well. I love the intense, and often brutally honest discussions we have- its healthy and it educates. But the anger and resentment What brings out is neither. If we all met on the street and the What said some of the stuff he posts here, no one would tolerate it. So why tolerate it here?
“Don’t think the solution to an excess of political correctness is more political correctness (in the form of shunning certain posters or seeking to broaden the range of ‘unacceptable’ jokes).”
Benson in a desperate bid for attention and relevance has become the What!
Decides his compass is the sainted moral one for the group.
Calls out a poster for not abiding by said code.
Cuts and pastes quotes.
Points angry finger at dissenters.
Sits back and enjoys the resulting fray.
Yeah Rob,I agree – can we please talk about Cats or fecal matter stat?

Etson;
Once again, I agree with you.
