Indeed it is, Kens- you’ve got too much to offer someone to let anyone- especially a crazy anyone- get you down. She doesn’t deserve you and she should realize it. But it’s not your job to teach her. Your job is to move on and have a great life.

I disagree, dibs. Executives often do appoint folks from across the aisle and it is good for government that they do that. I’d like to think that if you accept the offer, you are doing it to serve your country and that you do it untainted throughout the time you serve. I have no problem with Huntsmann as a republican in a dem admin, and I have no problem with him resuming a political career, but I have a problem with the idea that he is acting as our representative in China while entertaining the notion of running against his boss. Are we totally comfortable that his decisionmaking and advice was unaffected by this? He may be a totally honorable guy, but the appearance is problematic. This concern disappears entirely if he sits out 2012 and runs in 2016.

Obama acted in the best’s interests of the country. If Huntsman didn’t, (and I am not saying he didn’t), then it is on Huntsman head. I’m sick of all the politicians who care more about their party than the good of the country. And right now that looks to be about 95% of them

big difference btw presidential office and some appointee. we have lots of different types of people in gov’t. but up until last election – every prez has been a WASPy mofo (except for JFK)
