  1. I’m a pretty big supporter of same sex marriage. I had 2 pairs of friends in California in long term relationships who were able to marry during the short period when it was legal there.

    I agree that the decision should be purely legal and secular, but I do feel that religious organizations has the right to speak out on issues they feel are important. The civil rights movement was largely driven by religious organizations. My denomination is involved heavily in the marriage equality debate on the pro side – both the current and past presidents were signatories of the letter.

    On a side note, I do not feel that donations to religious organizations should be tax deductible. Religious organizations are largely social clubs with various side elements including politics and charity.

    Is male-female marriage a constitutional right? No. I think what you mean is you think that treating male-female and same sex marriage differently constitutes unconstitutional discrimination.

    Now say constitutes unconstitutional five times fast.
