rf, to answer your question no the kids didn’t come to mothers’ day dinner with us. During the day I had them make cards for her though. I send her down to the city to get a pedicure and whatnot while I stayed home with the kids – but then I got a huge amount of work and had all of these conference calls, and no one thinks it’s cute or funny when you’re trying to talk about a merger agreement or whatever and you have three screaming kids in the background. It was wicked stressful.
Older people have put into the system too. They were once the “younger people”. It’s a cycle- at some point everyone is supposed to get a return for their investment. So older folk are getting their investment back, as will younger people. It’s not like older people suddenly appeared out of nowhere and are just money suckers.
is it a social security problem? all the baby bloomers are always going off about how it won’t be around in 20 years or so. is that true? i truly see myself living in a trash can one day lol
