I like all the PLUSAs but sometimes showing up at the gatherings seems redundant unless there will be new people there. I once brought a friend to a gathering and she didn’t enjoy it, although because she felt too young, not from anything anyone did.

Well, a PLUSA gathering shouldn’t be one of your first dates, but at some point any serious love interest has to pass the PLUSA test, which measures tolerance, flexibility, social skill and sense of humor But then again, if you really like her then chances are that she has all those great qualities.
Lech, the GOTD, IMO, is awarded for something said innocently (i.e., without any intent of indicating one’s sexual preference) that nonetheless can be construed as sounding very gay. That is why posts that blatently address one’s sexuality, including not-so-surprising buttsecks, are not typically awarded the GOTD, nor are clearly blatant attempts to garner the GOTD, such as the time I posted about watching Beaches while sipping a Creme to Menthe Frappe wondering if Judy Garland would have been better in the role played by Bette Midler.
