But dave, I thought it was one or the other, i.e. a product would be listed as an OTC product or by prescription only. If the drops are sold OTC, you can still get them by prescription? Or is there a stronger prescription strength variety for which you would get the doctor to write a script for you?
Yes, a number of things are now OTC and are prescription strength. Mostly allergy stuff it would seem. Not sure, i don’t buy anything else.
I needed the drops over the weekend and last night but today actually has been OK. The allergies aren’t bad but just enough to annoy when my eyes get itchy.
Lech, yes. She was a piece of work. I remember one day meeting her at the elevator on the way into work once and she told me, “omg, buring the candle at both ends is killing me” she said “This job’s gotta go”.

Dona, I’m sure the drug companies make more money selling them OTC than they do through insurance payors.

So dave, these drops are sold both OTC and by prescription?
I always thought that this OTC thing with Claritin and others was bad idea (for insurance holders anyway).
Here’s how to beat the system….
I needed allergy relief eye drops. The best OTC ones are Alaway and Zaditor and each run about $18 for 10 ml.
When I need them next, I call the doctor, have him send in a 3 month scrip to caremark.com for prescription strength and pay $10 copay.
Where is rob anyway? Did he quit or something?

Factoids from Fed report on US agricultural exports:

China, Russia and Brazil – 3,000
India – 2400
US – 3800 calories
I eat around 1500 a day (or maybe I am kidding myself)
