  1. “Dave, heard the sailor’s funeral was due to the thought that no country would want to take Bin Killin’s body.”

That’s what I heard as well. Also only partially heard something about need/wanting to bury him quickly? Will we see photos?

  2. Watching the video of the dinner on Huffington Post now. Hysterical.

Dave, heard the sailor’s funeral was due to the thought that no country would want to take Bin Killin’s body.

  3. Time Line:

    August 2010
The CIA locates the residence of a member of bin Laden’s inner circle, who serves as one of his few trusted couriers. The CIA has reports that the courier may be living with bin Laden.
The courier and his brother are found to be living in a high- security compound in an affluent neighborhood in Abbottabad, Pakistan, 55 kilometers (35 miles) north of Islamabad.

    September 2010
The CIA shows President Barack Obama assessments indicating bin Laden may be hiding in the compound, which intelligence analysts conclude was custom-built to hide someone of significance. The complex has 12-foot-to-18-foot exterior walls topped with barbed wire. Access to the compound is restricted by two security gates and the property is valued at $1 million. It has no telephone or internet service connected to it. The courier and his brother have no explainable source of wealth.

    February 2011
The U.S. administration determines that the intelligence is strong enough to develop courses of action for pursuing bin Laden at the location. The U.S. doesn’t share the intelligence with other countries.

    March 14, 2011
Obama chairs the first of a series of five National Security Council meetings on developing courses of action on bin Laden. Other meetings take place on March 29, April 12, April 19 and April 28.

    April 29, 2011
Obama gives his final authorization to carry out the operation. Only a small group of people in the U.S. government are aware. The operation is planned as a raid by a small team designed to minimize collateral damage.

    May 1, 2011
CIA Director Leon Panetta orders the raid. U.S. helicopters carrying U.S. Navy Seal commandos descend on the compound. Bin Laden resists the assault force and is killed in a firefight.
