  1. When I finally got home my sister, friends and my brother were all calling me and telling me to get out of NY. For someone who wanted to get out of NY for years, all I could think of was, sh*t. I’m not leaving my city. For years, because of a friend’s suicide, I couldn’t stand the sight of a gun. I don’t like them now but if I had too, I’d get one and learn how to use it. The worst thing about terrorism is the human factor- how terrorists will use civilians as shields, and infiltrate civilian areas. One reason why I believe so strongly in training civilians in preparedness.

  2. My daughter was in her third day of Kindergarten in Chinatown. I was driving back to Brooklyn over the Manhattan Bridge when the first plane hit and I didn’t find out until an hour later. Was thinking about voting in the primary then or later. I couldn’t get back into Manhattan to pick her up from school. Finally I found someone I could reach on the phone (landline!) who walked to the school and picked her up. A neighbor who worked in Manhattan and had a kid in school in the Village picked her up and brought her home after 6. Very tough day!

  3. legion, have you no google?? 😉 Anyhow, hasselblad is a camera company based in sweden, originally famous for their medium-format (6cm-wide film) cameras and lenses, which were an industry standard for portrait, fashion, and wedding photogs, known for their sharp optics, occasional quirks, and wide range of accessories for any application.

They’ve done a fairly good job of making the transition to digital, and you can buy a lovely $40k digital hassy system (camera body, finder, one lens, and a digital back) nowadays, a system used by fashion and advertising folks everywhere.
