  1. I can’t believe how much work I did. I scrubbed the patio furniture cushions (pretty gross) and left them in the sun to dry. I do need to get the power washer though. That will pretty much finish the job back there. Then to plant some annuals when the weather is more consistently nice.

Squirrels left a couple of my lilly shoots alone. I have about 4 bulbs of those gigantic pink lillies that have a perfumed smell and tons of day lillies. Usually the squirrels eat most of the pink ones before they grow into stalks. They got two but the others are coming up. They like them when they are shoots. I think the idea is to put out seed for them during that stage. I hate those fuckers.

  2. Thanks for the info on fish. I could never have fish because I had cats. And I decided against cats for a lot of reasons, so now I can have fish. And birds too, as a matter of fact. That’s a thought. It would be great to get one of those old chinese bird cages and get a couple of birds. I remember them from when I was a kid though, big mess under the bird cage.

  3. “Rob, those were not legit pet shops. those were random shops that were selling them baby turtles.”

Is Rob mistaking food stores for pet stores in Chinatown? Imagining him buying a fish on ice and throwing it into a tank and wondering why it isn’t moving.

  5. The Chinatown (Manhattan) aquarium stores are amazing! Crystal clear tanks and a huge variety of tropical fish. M4L, I am glad you know of a place. We used to go to one (just looking) on Division St. right where it splits off Canal (opposite the back of the lumber yard and post office), and I sent my daughter’s 7th grade science teacher there in search of fish for a project. Alas, it was under construction for a moonface clothing store.
