“But what level is the right amount?
Right now in some measurements, we have as much as the rest of the world combined.”
We’re also the only ones who do global power projection. Our contribution to global stability represents a massive subsidy of the rest of the world. Comparing the size of the military of the one country that does global power projection to all of the countries that spend less on their military because they don’t have provides no meaningful information about whether the first country’s military is properly sized.
Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right . . .
“Well I don’t know why I came here tonight,
I got the feeling that something ain’t right,
I’m so scared in case I fall off my chair,
And I’m wondering how I’ll get down the stairs,
Clowns to the left of me,
Jokers to the right, here I am,
Stuck in the middle with you.”
The importance of the BRIC nations is undeniable,
if only by virtue of the numbers and resources they represent.
My analogy of the whack-a-mole seems to apply here though,
check out this link to how the BRICS nations want to change the world’s reserve currency away from the US Dollar:
“Why the current administration continues to believe that we can spend our way out of this problem, without regard to the other consequences, is a mystery to me.”
Why is it a mystery? Obama and until November, Congress was controlled by a bunch of memory-less, detached-from-reality socilaists. Who only care about equality. That’s what socialist do. If everyone is less rich and more equal, that’s more important. Than the rich getting richer, but the poor also getting less poor.
Guess what: most of our poor aren’t really that poor. Today’s poor have as much as the middle class of eras gone by.
Guess what: we spend too much on education.
Whatever. New York is a lost cause. The socialist morons have bred amongst themselves for too long (in CA as well).
I’m looking for Texas, and even New Jersey to save us.
“We’re also the only ones who do global power projection.”
And may I add: Thank God for that!!!
Will someone propose an alternative to the US’ power projection? China? Russia? Iran?
“I’m batman.”
Well, I got you beat. I’m God. And I deify you to deny my existence.

I am 2.99 x 10^8 percent right.
According to Einstein, it’s impossible to be any more right than that.
I’m batman.
